Come and Fly Fish on the Maitland, it is the most scenic river in Southwestern Ontario. The limestone basin, rock cliffs, black holes and the Falls at Benmiller give it a very unique character. We are very fortunate at Benmiller Inn & Spa to be right on the door step of the Maitland. You can expect to fish for Steelhead, Salmon and Smallmouth Bass. The best times of year to visit us to fish would be April to May and October to December for Steelhead, for Salmon come and stay with us September to October and to catch Smallmouth Bass the best time is late June to September. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful working relationship with Fly Fitters, the only local full time guiding business. The inn's idyllic setting of water and woodlands includes picturesque hiking trails that lead to views over the Maitland River rapids (a delightful swim). In winter, the area is a paradise for cross-country skiers, with seven snowy, adventurous trails through the trees. Trails range from 1.5 to 5.5 kilometres, for a total length of almost 20 kilometres.

Excellent golf is nearby, and Huron County's idyllic rolling hills are perfect for quiet cyclying. Lake Huron's white sand beaches are renowned for excellent swimming. Historic villages and towns in the area include Goderich, Blyth and Stratford. Many guests enjoy the professional theatre offered in Blyth, Stratford and Grand Bend.
